AMD processors have achieved a historic market share high in Windows gaming computers.
According to the hardware survey data released by Valve in May 2026, the market share of AMD processors in Windows gaming computers has climbed to 44.97%, reaching a historical high and just one step away from the 45% mark. Intel continues to lead with 55.02%, but the gap between the two has narrowed to about 10 percentage points. The latest data shows that AMD's market share in May increased by 0.79 percentage points compared to April, while Intel decreased by the same amount, indicating that Ryzen processors continue to be favored by gamers. If Linux and macOS users are also included in the statistics, AMD's CPU market share on the Steam platform reaches 46.06%, once again breaking a record.
