Financial news app Zhitong has learned that industrial output in Germany has increased for the first time since the outbreak of the Middle East war at the end of February, boosting hopes that the largest economy in Europe can withstand the impact of soaring energy costs. Data released by the German Federal Statistical Office on Tuesday showed that industrial output in April increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month, driven mainly by construction activity. This data is in line with the median estimate of economists. At the same time, the data for March was revised upwards, with the previously reported 0.7% month-on-month decline revised to just a 0.1% decrease. In addition, Germany's exports and imports unexpectedly increased in April.
