National Medical Insurance Administrator Huang Xinyu: The national medical insurance directory will maintain an annual adjustment schedule.

Regarding the frequency of adjustments to the medical insurance drug catalog, Huang Xinyu, Director of the Pharmaceutical Management Department of the State Medical Insurance Bureau, gave a clear response at the December 9th, 2025 Medical Insurance Drug Catalog Interpretation Conference: the catalog will maintain the pace of dynamic adjustments once a year. Huang Xinyu stated that since the establishment of the National Medical Insurance Bureau eight years ago, adjustments to the medical insurance drug catalog have been made continuously for eight years. In the future, we will continue to adhere to this practice, primarily for two reasons: first, to better meet the constantly changing clinical diagnosis and treatment needs, and to adapt to the development of disease spectrum; second, to timely incorporate the achievements of medical and technological progress to ensure that more new and effective drugs can benefit patients.
