This morning, the Institute of Integrated Circuits of Harbin Engineering University was officially established, making it the first integrated circuit institute in the field of ship and ocean nuclear in Chinese universities. Leveraging the educational advantages of Harbin Engineering University in the fields of shipbuilding, naval equipment, marine development, and nuclear energy applications, the newly established integrated circuit institute will focus on the independent research and development of "ocean chips". It will focus on the integrated circuit application areas such as marine sensors, underwater intelligent systems, multi-physical field detection, and microelectromechanical systems. It will conduct research on "micro-nano semiconductor and optoelectronic integrated devices", "integrated circuit design technology and system chips", "integrated circuit processing technology and sensors", and "advanced packaging and intelligent microsystem integration", promoting key core technology research breakthroughs.
