Recently, Jiangsu officially approved the addition of Wuxi Vocational and Technical University, Suzhou Vocational and Technical University, and Yangzhou Vocational and Technical University as bachelor's degree awarding units, and approved a total of 17 majors as bachelor's degree awarding majors. This marks the official eligibility of the 3 vocational undergraduate institutions to award bachelor's degrees, and their level of education and talent cultivation quality has reached a new level. With this addition, there are now a total of 4 vocational undergraduate institutions in Jiangsu. Wuxi Vocational and Technical University's robot technology, Internet of Things engineering technology, and 6 other majors have been approved as bachelor's degree awarding majors. The school's party secretary Gong Fanghong introduced that in the autumn of this year, 996 undergraduate students have already started their university life at the school. Subsequently, the school is actively optimizing its major system and strengthening the cluster of intelligent manufacturing majors. Specifically, it will closely align with Jiangsu's "1650" industrial system and Wuxi's "465" modern industrial cluster construction, focusing on key technologies in intelligent manufacturing and building a strong cluster of intelligent manufacturing majors consisting of 8 professional groups. "The National High-level Professional Group of Numerical Control Technology focuses on key technologies in 'intelligent design' and 'intelligent production', supporting the development of 'high-end equipment' and 'new materials' advantageous industrial clusters; the school will focus on building intelligent manufacturing technology disciplinary platforms and high-level teams, and gradually optimize discipline and major systems with a focus on equipment manufacturing and electronics information. By 2030, the school plans to offer around 30 vocational undergraduate majors," Gong Fanghong said.
