The first batch of Chilean cherries shipped by sea has arrived in Shenzhen.
Early this morning, a cargo ship carrying fresh Chilean cherries arrived in Hong Kong and was transported by cross-border trucks to the Shenzhen Bay Port. This is the first batch of Chilean cherries imported by sea in China this season, officially kicking off this year's "Cherry Season." Starting today, there will be at least one "Cherry Cargo Ship" docking in the Greater Bay Area every week, and the import season will continue until March next year. Last peak season, Shenzhen Customs imported 202,000 tons of cherries, accounting for nearly 40% of the total import volume of similar products in the country, ranking first in the country. According to predictions, global exports of Chilean cherries this season will reach 655,000 tons, with 93% of them flowing to China, 90% of which are transported by sea, and "Cherry Express" directly to China takes only 23 days. This year, the number of direct flights to China for cherries has increased to 32 flights, double the number in 2024.
