IndiGo Airlines fined $13.1 million tax penalty.
According to a notice from the Indian Stock Exchange, InterGlobe Aviation, the operator of India's largest airline IndiGo, has received a penalty order from the tax department demanding payment of 1.18 billion rupees for the financial years 2018-19 to 2021-22. The Indian tax department has rejected the company's application for input tax credit and issued a notice for payment of additional taxes and penalties. InterGlobe has stated that this decision is erroneous and plans to appeal to the relevant authorities.
