Zhitong Finance APP has learned that the German Ifo economic research institute's October business expectations index unexpectedly recorded its sixth consecutive month of increase, rising from 90.4 in September to 91.6, while economists surveyed by the market had generally expected a slight decline to 90. Ifo President Clemens Fuest said in a statement: "The economic recovery is continuing. However, companies' assessments of the current situation have deteriorated slightly." The indicator measuring the current situation unexpectedly moved lower, forming a set of divergent signals worth careful reading alongside the strength of the expectations sub-index.
