Plan to divert 971 million cubic meters of water: Ningxia Yellow River irrigation district launches 2026 winter irrigation

At 15:00 on October 25, with the opening of the Tanglai Canal to divert water, the 2026 winter irrigation work in the Ningxia Yellow River irrigation district officially began. This year's winter irrigation, Ningxia plans to divert 971 million cubic meters of water, with a water delivery period of 31 days. This winter irrigation will focus on ensuring water for human drinking water storage and for overwintering crops such as winter wheat, grapes, goji berries, and daylilies, and will reasonably arrange water use for ecological forests and water replenishment for major lakes.
