New Oriental Enters the Railway Tourism Sector
On the morning of October 24, at the "New Oriental Xiake" tourist train product launch event held in Beijing, China Railway Beijing Group, together with New Oriental Culture & Tourism, released the "New Oriental Xiake" tourist train and travel products themed around an Oriental journey. This is New Oriental Culture & Tourism's first tourist train independently invested in and operated, with Beijing as its departure station. Yu Minhong, founder of New Oriental Group, elaborated on the philosophy and vision behind formally entering the tourist train sector. Yu Minhong said that New Oriental Culture & Tourism is engaging in train tourism with the aim of adhering to culture as the core, making the journey itself a content-rich and warm experience. The name "Xiake" comes from Xu Xiake, a Ming dynasty geographer and traveler. It both pays tribute to his spirit of travel that unites knowledge and action and signifies that travelers, like Xiake, will read the mountains and rivers with a curious hearttravel is no longer a hurried, superficial check-in, but a cultural exploration through morning glow and evening clouds. The "New Oriental Xiake" train aims to organically combine the function of railway transportation with the value of cultural experience, offering travelers a new way to travel in which "the journey is the scenery, and travel is learning." The train consists of 18 carriages in total, with a capacity of 190 passengers. The entire train is equipped with soft-sleeper three-person and four-person compartments, each with its own private bathroom. The inaugural service will run from Beijing Station to Northeast China.
