First batch of Russian diesel has been shipped to the United States.
According to a report on the website of Rossiyskaya Gazeta on October 23, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told the media that the first three tankers carrying Russian diesel fuel have set off for the western Atlantic coast. He said that under previously reached agreements aimed at meeting the needs of the global fuel market, Russia will supply more diesel to the United States and the world market. TASS quoted Novak as pointing out that Russian companies may export 500,000 tons of diesel fuel in October alone, and this export volume was determined on the premise of ensuring an adequate supply to the Russian domestic market. The Russian deputy prime minister speculated that the main portion of the exported diesel may come from the inventories of Rosneft. It was previously reported that, under previously reached agreements, Russia will supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the U.S. and other countries' markets in October, and then supply 500,000 tons and 1 million tons respectively in November and after November. The total volume of diesel exported by Russia before the end of this year may exceed 3 million tons.
