U.S. Democratic lawmakers demand executives of leading AI labs submit reports on "rogue agent" incidents.

Three House Democrats who serve as their party's leading voices on artificial intelligence policy are demanding that the chief executives of five technology companies hand over information explaining the growing number of cyberattacks carried out by out-of-control AI agents. Reps. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Valerie Foushee of North Carolina and Ted Lieu of California wrote to the tech giants. "If committed by a human, each of these actions would constitute a serious cybercrime. This is deeply concerning," the three wrote. The recipients include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, SpaceXAI CEO Elon Musk, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Several of those individuals are expected to attend an AI summit at the White House on Tuesday, meeting with President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson.
