2025 urban renewal investment reaches 3.2 trillion yuan

Yang Baojun, chairman of the China Association of City Planning, said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters that since China implemented the urban renewal initiative, the intensity of work has continued to increase and notable results have been achieved. On the one hand, a series of supporting mechanisms, including policy-based financial support for urban renewal, planning and land support, urban physical examinations, and urban renewal statistics, have been implemented at a faster pace. On the other hand, the scale of urban renewal investment increased from 2.6 trillion yuan in 2023 to 3.2 trillion yuan in 2025, and its role in boosting domestic demand, stabilizing growth, and promoting consumption has become increasingly prominent.
