On September 24, according to Counterpoint Research's Global Smart Glasses Market Tracker, in the first half of 2026, total global AI glasses shipments increased by 263% year-on-year. Affordable and lightweight display-free AI glasses continued to dominate, accounting for 96% of total shipments; while AR & AI glasses mostly rely on optical waveguide technology to achieve an optical see-through experience, and due to higher costs, technology maturity that still needs improvement, and relatively bulky product form factors, the market remains relatively niche.
