Alibaba is accelerating data center expansion in Europe and the Middle East, driving its 20-gigawatt global infrastructure buildout. Alibaba executive Li Feifei said Wednesday at the Yunqi Conference held in Hangzhou that Alibaba will establish its first cloud regions in Turkey, Finland, and the Netherlands within the next 12 months. The company will also expand its data center footprint in Malaysia, Germany, the UAE, France, and Hong Kong, a move that will strengthen its ability to provide localized cloud and AI services. Alibaba's global cloud network extends from Japan to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In recent months, the company has opened new facilities in Brazil and France, aiming to bring generative AI services to local enterprises. Li Feifei said: "We are committed to working closely with the global ecosystem to make AI more scalable, more practical, and more accessible for businesses."
