Mitsuhiro Kozawa, the former executive of Japan's Ministry of Finance, stated that Japan may take more measures to intervene in the yen, and the pace of interest rate hikes by the Bank of Japan may accelerate. Coordinated interventions between Japan and the United States could occur again at any time. If the yen returns to the level seen before the joint intervention by Japan and the U.S. at the end of July, Japan and the U.S. may intervene once more. The Bank of Japan may raise interest rates in September and then again in December or January of next year. Ultimately, the Bank of Japan may aim to increase the interest rate to around 1.5% to 1.75%.
