Ministry of Commerce: Initiated a case investigation on national security regarding the import of relevant printing and copying office equipment.

According to Article 41 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, in order to maintain the order of foreign trade, the Ministry of Commerce may independently or together with other relevant departments of the State Council conduct investigations into matters concerning national security interests in foreign trade. Preliminary information indicates that imported printing and copying office equipment containing foreign system software may affect national security interests in foreign trade, which aligns with the circumstances outlined in Article 41 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China. Based on Articles 41 and 42 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to investigate matters concerning national security interests in foreign trade starting from August 5, 2026.
