On Friday, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US) rose in early trading, up about 2.6% as of press time, with a market capitalization of $3.8 trillion. On the news front, Microsoft Corporation announced the launch of a new version of Copilot, adding three core capabilities: Home, Code, and Autopilot, aiming to expand the AI assistant from a conversational tool into an intelligent agent capable of executing tasks, building applications, and working continuously. Home will become the new entry point for Copilot, integrating Chat and Cowork features, and directly incorporating the capabilities of Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into the Copilot experience, allowing users to collaborate on these applications without leaving the AI tool.
The Code feature will allow users to create applications, tracking tools, data dashboards, and automated workflows through natural language, running on the same underlying technology as GitHub Copilot, and will be gradually rolled out in the Microsoft Corporation Frontier program. Autopilot is Microsoft Corporation's previously code-named Scout digital agent, which can continuously execute tasks when users are not actively operating, including following up on communications, managing processes, scheduling meetings, and advancing projects. This feature will expand to a private preview phase by the end of September.
