EPI (HOLDINGS) (00689) announced that compared to the profit of approximately HKD 11 million achieved in the first half of 2025, the group expects to incur a loss attributable to equity holders of not more than HKD 16 million in the first half of 2026. The group's performance shifted from profit to loss mainly due to (i) the grant of stock options on May 5, 2026, which resulted in a one-time non-cash, share-based payment expense of approximately HKD 9 million (first half of 2025: none); (ii) primarily due to the depreciation of the Canadian dollar and New Zealand dollar against the Hong Kong dollar during the period, causing the group to recognize an unrealized exchange loss of approximately HKD 9 million upon the revaluation of foreign currency denominated balances at the end of the period (first half of 2025: unrealized exchange gain of approximately HKD 8 million).
