On August 14, the Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rate generally rose, with the one-month HIBOR related to mortgages reporting 2.55476%, a drop of 3.816 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, which reflects the cost of bank funding, reported 2.90566%, an increase of 0.566 basis points.
The overnight rate was 2.17250%, rising by 8.857 basis points; the one-week HIBOR rose by 3.839 basis points to 2.18649%, while the two-week rate also increased by 3.839 basis points to 2.28649%. The two-month HIBOR remained unchanged at 2.80000%. For the long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR rose by 0.518 basis points to 3.18268%, while the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.50000%.
