The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced that Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserves stood at 447.8 billion USD at the end of July 2026 (compared to 445.9 billion USD at the end of June 2026).
On August 7, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced that Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserves stood at $447.8 billion at the end of July 2026 (compared to $445.9 billion at the end of June 2026). There were no outstanding foreign exchange contracts at the end of July and June 2026. The total amount of foreign exchange reserves, at $447.8 billion, is equivalent to more than five times the currency in circulation in Hong Kong, or about 38% of the M3 money supply in HKD.
